I have not received the stainless steel cup that was supposed to come with my cg305b model ..the delonghi portafilter a popular expresso machine.. the portafilter doesn’t fit into the shardor’s port filter holder after many complaints by email to after sales nothing has been done only bullshit response I am calling my credit card discover today

Very solid built grinder. I had an ancient grinder this replaced. Noise, minimal. Grind appears to be very consistent. The 3 grind timers is great. They hold the last time you used. There appears to be very little to no residual left. Going from a coarse grind to fine grind will require the grind chamber to be empty. Not a big deal since hopper has a close off. Static cling is a thing of the past. 1 complaint.. it needs to come with a single dose hopper. FYI, this sucker is tall. Standard install for upper cabinets will make you put this elsewhere.

I bought this product directly from the Shardor site, which was a challenge, as the grinder when arrived did not work out-of-the-box. This is a generic manufacturer in China, and they DO NOT have "Live Chat" support as advertised. They do respond to email in ~24h, unless a weekend or Chinese holiday. It took 19 emails and 2 weeks with many photos and videos I sent to convince them they wired the product wrong. The motor was running backwards... I determined what was wrong and then their "engineers" agreed. After that they sent a replacement, which arrived in 2 days. It works as it should. The working one (and the broken one) are terrific with regards to "fit and finish" and quality of materials, and the motor is powerful as advertised. A similar grinder from a large name brand would be $600-$1000 USD. In the end, EXCELLENT product and saved a few bucks buying direct, but if through Amazon (who fulfilled the direct order) would have had a bit easier time with the replacement.

The grind chamber is nicely made and is machined out of aluminum. The adjustment collar is brass, as on the older Mazzer grinders. (The upper part of the collar is chromed.) There's an O ring around the upper burr carrier that helps seal the grinding area. The adjustment mechanism is similar to that of Mazzer and Ceado (and many others). Other than burr wear there's no reason for the mechanism to drift, stop working, or wear out like it does on plastic grinders. The motor is a relatively small permanent magnet motor with a gear box, similar in size to the Niche. The commercial Italian grinders use an AC motor, which requires a much larger and heavier motor. The P.M. motor used here can be lighter and more efficient, but may eventually have brush wear. If these parts (motor, motor brushes, gears, display, power electronics) are made well they can last for many years. If they are hardened, the burrs will also last many years under heavy home use. Burrs can be changed with other nice burrs from Italmill, Lebrew, and SSP, plus burrs from other grinders such as Fellow Ode. Grind adjustment is significantly easier than with Mazzer. Effort is similar to the E5P. Grinding speed is faster than the E5P. The on/off switch and front momentary switch feel nice when pressed. Except for the plastic portafilter holder piece, and the thinner plastic used in the hopper, I see no evidence of cost cutting. The entire grinder is lighter than an Italian commercial grinder, because of the different motor used - DC versus AC.

Today, I received this grinder, which turns on, but it does not grind. If I press any grinding option, it will throw me the "E1" error. I followed the included troubleshooting steps but they did not help.

The troubleshooting page says E1 error can be due to A) The dial is not in place or B) The grinder has over heated. Obviously, B) cannot be as it was BNIB. Thus, I removed and reattached the dial, but no luck.

I received a faulty unit. Perhaps, a bad micro-switch sensor or its wiring.

Anyways, I started an amazon replacement request. Later, I will email support Shardor just to learn more from this issue.
